Frequently Asked Questions:
Why choose
a CPA instead of a tax preparer? What
is the difference?
Only CPAs, attorneys, and enrolled argents
can represent taxpayers before the IRS in all matters
including audits, collection actions and appeals. The
real distinction between a tax preparer/accountant and
a CPA is that a CPA is authorized to handle audits before
the IRS without the presence of the client. A CPA can
represent a client before the IRS through all levels
of appeal up to the Tax Court. In addition, today's
CPA candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university, plus at minimum 30
semester hours in excess of the bachelor's degree. Finally,
the CPA candid ate must pass a rigorous two-day four-part
exam in the areas of audit, tax, financial accounting,
and business law.The CPA exam covers tax law and theory
across a wide spectrum of tax frameworks including various
types of partnerships, ethics and audit procedures,
as well as individual tax laws, to name just a few.
I
already have an accountant. How would I benefit from
talking with your accounting firm?
First, our initial consultations are
free. There are no fees or hidden costs. We believe
you'll find that not all accounting firms offer the
same types of services, and prices vary. Our initial
meeting with you is your opportunity to explore potential
tax compliance and process improvements with our team.
In some cases, our initial consultations are used by
prospective clients to validate a current tax strategy
they are pursuing, and for our team to propose next
steps to sustain and optimize these outcomes.
How
do I know that I'm getting the best combination of price,
service, and professional guidance?
I do all of my own accounting.
How could I save money by using your services?
For some clients, we simply serve as
an open resource. We believe the focus of a business
owner should be on growing his or her business, not
in keeping up on the latest IRS tax publications to
maximize tax planning. We realize there is a big temptation
to do it all yourself to save money. But think about
this: Most successful businesspeople have learned that
freeing up more time to spend running a business results
in higher revenue increases. It's simply a matter of
balance. You let us know what types of tax preparation
and planning support your business needs, and Windell
Moore CPA PA will develop a customized program tailored
to meet your needs. |
